Privacy Policy

Last updated October 18, 2026. This policy explains what personal information Local After School ("we", "us") collects through localafterschool.com, why, and the choices you have. The short version: you can use the site without an account, we don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't sell or share personal information.

What we collect

We don't collect payment details, precise location, account passwords or information from social networks. The site's city search runs in your browser and isn't sent to us.

Cookies and tracking

The site sets no cookies and uses no advertising, tracking or social media pixels. Fonts are served from our own domain. If we add privacy-friendly visitor statistics in the future, we will update this policy first and won't use them to identify you or follow you across other sites. Because we don't track you, there is nothing for a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off, but we will honor those signals if that changes.

How we use information

We do not sell personal information, share it for targeted advertising or use it for automated decisions about you.

Who we share it with

We only share information with service providers that help us run the site, and only for that purpose:

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.

Information about programs

Listings describe businesses and organizations, using public records such as state licensing data and OpenStreetMap. Where a listing includes a contact name, phone number or email, it is business contact information that is already public or was supplied by the program. Programs can ask us to correct or update their listing through add or correct a program.

Children

The site is written for parents, guardians and program operators, not for children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Please don't include a child's name, photo or school in anything you send us. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

How long we keep it

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Depending on where you live, you may have these rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act and other US state privacy laws, or the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation. Where the GDPR applies, we rely on our legitimate interest in running the site and responding to you, or on your consent where you ask us to publish something.

To make a request, email us from the address you used to contact us. We'll respond within 30 days, may need to confirm your identity first, and won't treat you differently for making a request. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

The site is served only over HTTPS, and we keep the information we hold to a minimum. No system is completely secure, so please don't email us anything sensitive.

Links to other sites

Listings link to program websites, map services and government sites. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave our site.

Changes

We'll update this page if our practices change, and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
